L&D Shakers is by and for its members. It’s a co-created space where community members design and deliver learning experiences for free, in their free time, and out of a shared passion for learning. We respect and admire each other’s courage, work, and contributions.

We believe learning happens in action and through action. That’s why every member can host an event, lead an event type, adopt a Slack channel, start a project, rally a team, create a learning cluster, and much more. This is our personal learning playground. Every member is encouraged to take part, whether by launching a new idea or simply engaging in discussions.

There are no expectations, no KPIs, no managers telling you what to do. Just you, your creativity, your ideas, your courage to step out of your comfort zone, and a bunch of like-minded people learning by doing alongside you.

This is how our members contribute and create value

There are so many ways to show up within a community of practice. You can simply observe and absorb all the resources, or you can raise a hand and lead an initiative.

Below, we tried to detail the 5 levels of contribution.

OBSERVE

You mainly listen, read, and learn from what others are doing. You do not need to actively contribute or make yourself visible.

PARTICIPATE

You join discussions, attend sessions, ask questions, and share occasionally. We’re constantly experimenting with new ways of connecting and learning from each other, but these are the “always on” opportunities.
